At Byrd & Flanigan Crematory & Funeral Service, we believe families deserve clear, honest, and readily accessible information when making funeral and cremation decisions. For that reason, we respectfully publish our cremation pricing on our website, allowing families to review our services and costs at their convenience.

While pricing practices vary among funeral homes & crematories, we are committed to transparency and believe that providing this information online helps families make informed decisions with confidence and without added stress during a difficult time.

Our complete charge for Trusted Cremation™ is $1,995 and includes the following services:

🤍 Convenient Arrangement Options
To provide comfort and convenience during this difficult time, arrangements may be made in person at our facility or securely online from the comfort and privacy of your home. Our caring staff is available to guide and assist you every step of the way, regardless of the option you choose.

🤍 Transportation of the Deceased
Transportation from the place of death to our facility (within a 50-mile service radius) is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are no additional charges for evenings, weekends, or holidays, providing families with consistent pricing regardless of the time services are needed.

🤍 Cremation Authorization
Consultation with the legal next of kin to complete and execute all required cremation authorization documents.

🤍 Required Permits
Preparation and filing of all necessary cremation permits.

🤍 Death Certificate Processing
Preparation and filing of the death certificate with the State of Georgia. Most families find that 5 to 10 certified copies of the death certificate are sufficient for handling the personal and financial affairs of the deceased. However, additional copies may be obtained if needed, depending on the specific requirements of estates or other administrative matters. (The State of Georgia charges a fee of $25.00 for the first certified copy of the death certificate, and $5.00 for each additional certified copy requested thereafter)

🤍 Social Security Notification
Notification of death to the Social Security Administration.
**Please note that the family will still be required to contact the Social Security Administration directly once the certified death certificate has been received to complete any remaining benefit or claim-related processes at 1-800-772-1213 between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday

Cremation performed with dignity and care in our privately owned, on-site crematory in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

🤍 Certificate of Cremation
An official Certificate of Cremation is provided to the family.

🤍 Complimentary Online Obituary (Optional)
Upon the family's request, an obituary may be published on our website at no additional charge, providing family and friends with a lasting online memorial and service information.

🤍 Fiberboard Cremation Container
A dignified fiberboard cremation container is provided for the cremation process. This rigid, combustible container is specifically designed to facilitate the safe and respectful placement of your loved one into the cremation chamber and is required for the cremation process.

🤍 Standard Cremation Urn
A standard plastic cremation urn is provided for returning the cremated remains to the family. A selection of decorative urns and memorial keepsakes is also available for purchase, should the family wish to choose an alternative option.

Private Immediate Family Viewing Before Cremation (Optional Service)

The Private viewing is held in a private room at our funeral home to provide a calm and respectful environment for your family. This time allows loved ones to gather together, reflect on the life of the deceased, and share a quiet moment of prayer, remembrance, or personal farewell in a peaceful and supportive setting. Your loved one will be carefully placed in reposing and respectfully draped with a quilt, creating a peaceful and dignified presentation for the viewing. This setting is arranged to provide a calm and comforting atmosphere for the family to pay their final respects.

A Private Family Viewing is available for the immediate family members before cremation for an additional fee of $150.00.

To ensure that we provide your family with the time, privacy, and personal attention you deserve, viewings are scheduled by appointment, Monday through Friday, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The private viewing is limited to one hour.

If the deceased has undergone a postmortem examination by the Medical Examiner, Coroner, or Tissue Donation, additional preparation is required before viewing. In these cases, an additional preparation fee of $225.00 will apply in addition to the $150.00 Private Family Viewing Charge.
