Tamunomeite “Kevin” Jim-Lawson passed away unexpectedly at the tender age of 31 On March 6th, 2022, due to gun violence here in Atlanta. Even though someone stole the life of our beloved one, we believe that he would always remain as a light to all his family and true friends who remember him with the squint in his eye and his bellowing infectious smile. A graduate from Berkman High School and proceeded to Georgia Gwinnett College where he became the president of the African Students Association an association that he held deeply to his heart. As a child Kevin's dream has always been to play professional football for his beloved Atlanta Falcons, playing as the best of the best at Berkman High amongst his fellow peers. Kevin then found his next passion his love for protecting his loved one and others led him to working as Private Security protecting some of the biggest musicians in our time he worked in this role until his timely death.
Kevin is survived by his loving family members and siblings: Nancy Thanni and his two nieces McKenzie Finch & Skye Thanni, Nickolas Jim-Lawson, Craig Jim-Lawson, Paul Obla Jr, Justin Obla, Lawrence Obla, Anthony Obla, Cat Etim, Oganya Obla, & Ojeka Obla. He was blessed by having two father Onengi Jim-Lawson & Paul Obla and four mothers Charity Lawson, Edna Obla his God Mother Nichol and proceeding in death his late mother Emelia Coby. His Aunt Dorah Nsemoh and Uncle Emmanuel Nesmoh and a host of loving cousins.
Funeral arrangements are as follows the family will receive friends and family for viewing on 04/22/2022 from 2 pm-6 pm followed by the funeral proceeding on 04/23/2022 at 12 pm at Byrd & Flanigan Funeral Home 288 Hurricane Shoals Rd NE, Lawrenceville, GA. Please the family ask all guests to wear white on the day of the funeral. All donations can kindly be made to the Byrd & Flanigan funeral home.
