He was injured multiple times during the war in an infantry division and also was an interpreter being fluent in the French language. After the war he settled in Hartford Connecticut where he met his future wife Jeanne Bernier. Some of the best values Steve had ingrained in his family; when someone needs help...help them (dependability), always work as hard as you can and lead by example (commitment), always tell the truth no matter what (honesty), always fight to the end and never give up even in the face of adversity (courage) and to wear the Red, White and Blue like you mean it (patriotism) plus many others.
What he did exceptionally well as a brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and role model was; He didn't tell us how to live; he lived, and let us watch him do it!
