Shirley Jean Warth

Shirley Jean Warth, 85 of Richmond, IN died in Marietta, GA on Monday, August 31, 2020 due to complications of kidney failure. Born July 4, 1935 near Monticello, KY she was the daughter of the late James Chester and Edna (Matthews) Dunnington.  She was a faithful Christian and member of Sylvan Nook Church of Christ in Richmond, IN. In prior years, she and her husband were involved in local and national hot rod events where they showcased their Red Chevy coupe.  She retired as an Administrative Assistant from R.W. Clinton and Associates after 44 years of service.  In her retirement, she was an active volunteer for the Wayne County Convention and Tourism Board, the Richmond Civic Theater, the Sylvan Nook Food Pantry, and enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and visiting with friends and family.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, S. Gene “Moose” Warth in 2007, her brother, Glenn Dunnington in 2017, and daughter-in-law, Barbara Warth in 2017.  She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Chris) Nuzum, of Marietta, GA, her son, Jeff Warth of Richmond, IN, granddaughter, Lori (Greg) Arp, great-grandson, Jarrett Amyx, and great-granddaughter, Bailey Arp, all of Rockmart, GA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 12 pm (Noon) at Doan and Mills Funeral Home in Richmond, IN with Rev. Mike Ballard officiating.  Interment will follow at in Earlham Cemetery.  The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral at the funeral home.  If you choose, memorials may be sent to Sylvan Nook Church of Christ or the American Kidney Foundation.
