Sadie Mae Downen-Hayes, 67, Lawrenceville, GA - Sadie Mae Downen-Hayes of Lawrenceville, GA entered into eternal rest on April 04, 2021, due to acute renal failure. She died at home, as was her wish, surrounded by loved ones. and again in Memphis, TN.
Sadie was born in Joliet, IL on November 13, 1953. After moving to Memphis, TN she attended Humes Preparatory Middle School and Memphis Technical High School. Her quest for a vibrant life led to: raising three wonderful children; ensuring correct medical billing at Bausch & Lomb; helping countless taxpayers as a Tax Payer Advocate for the IRS; donating to charities like St. Jude's whenever she could, and ultimately being the best Memom a grandchild could have, of which there are 9. In 1999, she moved to Lawrenceville, GA with her spouse, Jonathan Hayes. She retired on disability in 2003. Even in pain, she would take the time to send big healing hugs and much love to everyone. She proudly voiced herself as a "highly opinionated Liberal". She enjoyed family gatherings during Thanksgiving and Christmas and always took the opportunity to root for her team, Alabama, Roll Tide Roll. She was with her husband for 25 wonderful years.
Survivors include: her spouse, Jonathan Hayes of Lawrenceville, GA; son, John Noel (Shelly Cook) of Austell, GA; son, Anthony Noel of McDonough, GA; one daughter, Beth Warsham of Lawrenceville, GA; nine grandchildren, Lacey Noel, Shelby Cox, Katie Conn, Blake Noel, Kaleb Fierroz, Annie Fierroz, Austin Denard, Addison Noel, Bella Bruton; five great-grandchildern; six brothers, Harry of Memphis TN, Larry of Hickory Flat MS, Carter of Munford TN, Wink of Memphis TN, Mike of League City TX, Ron of Munford TN; one sister, Lisa Tubbs of Memphis, TN; nieces and nephews and cousins and extended family members. She is also deeply missed by her many beloved friends.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Byrd & Flanigan Funeral Service Lawrenceville GA; with Pastor Paul Turner officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:30 pm - 2:00 pm. Also a service will be held at a later date in Memphis, TN
