Mrs. Rose Lucille Smith Traylor of Decatur, Ga passed away in her home Thursday August 26, 2021 at the age of 88. Lucille was born in Tampa Florida June 17th, 1933. Graduated with a Bachelors of library science from Florida State University and a Masters of Library Science from Emory University. Lucille served as a Librarian for Henderson High school for 30 years in the DeKalb County school systems. Lucille was a devoted humanitarian volunteering for organizations including Decatur First United Methodist church, answering advice for the Clark Howard show on WSB Radio, and was very dedicated to the Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence.
Lucille is survived by Sons David Traylor of Memphis, TN, Paul (Peggy) Traylor of Cumming Ga; Siblings Carolyn Smith of Miami Fl, Nick (Vina) Smith of Crestview, Fl; Grandchildren Samantha (Andrew) Toler of Memphis TN, Emily (Zac) Renfroe Dacula Ga, and Charlie Traylor Memphis TN; Lucille is also survived by her great grandchildren, Miss Evelyn Renfroe, Miss Millie Toler and Miss Winona Renfroe and a fourth she had looked forward to meeting. Niece Libby (Chip) Nelson Cumming Ga, and Grandnieces Lauren (Jesse) Hall Murryville Ga, and Lindsey Nelson Dahlonega Ga. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bevis Traylor, her parents Julius Sr. and Josephine Smith and Brother J.h. (Janice) Smith Jr.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 1, 2021 at Byrd & Flanigan Crematory and Funeral service. friends and family are welcome for the viewing from 11 am to 2 pm, with a service starting at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence WRCDV.Org
