Ray B. Johnston, 74 passed away on December 26th, 2022 at his home in Loganville, Georgia. Ray Beyer Johnston was born on July 1, 1948, to George and Thelma (Bartoe) of New Kensington, Pennsylvania. Ray graduated from Burrell High School in 1966. Ray B. Johnston served in the United States Navy from 1968-1976, receiving the Presidential Service Certificate for honorable service in the White House Communications Agency. After his military service, Ray had a 40-year career in the Pulp and Paper industry as a controls engineer.
Ray was a dedicated and loving Husband, Dad, and Pap Pap to 7 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Ray’s grandchildren are Christopher, Ethan, Bryan, Emily, Sarah, Chloe, and Abigail, great-grandchildren Bryan and Victoria. Ray is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy (Daniels), his children including son Michael and daughter-in-law Kim, daughter Penny and son-in-law Eric, daughter Charity, and son-in-law Ron. Also surviving are Ray’s brother Grant and sister-in-law Christine and their family in Pennsylvania. A memorial service with military honors will be held on January 5th at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Wounded Warrior Project
