Luther Binns Lewis Jr.

In loving memory of Luther Binns Lewis Jr. A friend, father, son, brother, husband, and hero. A man like no other, who faced the world and lived his life on his own terms. A man who served his nation in the Air Force during the Vietnam War before returning home to serve his community as a Homicide Detective for 19 years. A man who brought peace and comfort to numerous families in search of answers. A man of strength, bravery, and action who could cradle a baby with utmost tenderness or subdue the most hardened criminals. A risk-taker, willing to put everything on the line, just to provide a little more for his family.

He is preceded in death by his father (Luther Sr.), mother (Muriel Margaret), and sister (Cheryl).

Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Micha, his sisters Linda, Betty, and Karen, his sons Michael and David, his daughters Debra and Brenda, his grandchildren Calvin, Michael Anthony, Amanda, Michael Allen, Julie, James Logan, Heaven, and James Hunter, his great-granddaughter Jasmine, nine nephews, five nieces, and numerous extended family members. They will all forever treasure the blessing that he was.

A celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Byrd & Flanigan Funeral Service Lawrenceville GA. with Pastor Tim Taffar officiating.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:30 AM until service time.
