Lise Raynor Obituary

Lise Rossignol Raynor

It is with a heavy heart that we share the passing of Lise Rossignol Raynor, a beloved wife, devoted mother, adored grandmother, cherished sister and treasured friend. Lise was born on March 3, 1947, to Simone (Lacombe) and Louis-Emile Rossignol in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada. Lise peacefully passed away on January 26, 2024, surrounded by family.

Lise enjoyed growing up in Canada where she spent a lot of time with her aunts, uncles and many cousins. She enjoyed ice skating and building snow tunnels in the winter and going to the lakes in the summer. Lise had a beautiful voice that she showcased by singing in school, church concerts and even at her wedding. During the summer of 1967, Lise met her future husband, Chuck, while living with her sister and brother-in-law, Madeleine and Bob Floyd in Houston, TX. After graduating from Collège Maillet (now Université de Moncton) in May 1968, she married the love of her life on June 8, 1968, and moved to Raleigh, North Carolina where she began her 20 year career as a French teacher. From Winston Salem, NC to Stone Mountain and Cumming, GA, Lise was a friend to everyone she met. Upon retirement in 2008, they moved to Savannah Lakes Village in McCormick, South Carolina where she was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. In 2020, Lise and Chuck moved back to Georgia to be closer to family.

Lise enjoyed calligraphy, crafting and spending time with her Green Tees group, the Ladies Lunch Bunch and her many friends. Lise had a sweet spirit and lifted her family and friends up with prayers and beautiful handmade cards. She devoted her time to her family, friends and her fur babies but Lise’s greatest joy on earth were her four grandchildren. She enjoyed cheering for them at their dance recitals, swim meets, cheer competitions, football games and many graduation ceremonies.

Lise is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Paul Rossignol of Quebec, QC, Canada and Denise Southern of Baton Rouge, LA. Sadly, Lise’s younger sister, Ghislaine Boserman of Youngstown, OH joined her in heaven on January 28, 2024.

Lise is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, Charles (Chuck) Raynor; her daughters,  Stephanie Raynor Manley (Trey) of Griffin, GA and Kimberly Raynor Dontje (Nate) of Flowery Branch, GA; her sister, Madeleine Floyd (Robert) of Hull, MA; sister-in-law France Hudon of Quebec, QC, Canada; brother-in-law Mike Boserman of Youngstown, OH; four adored grandchildren, Raynor and Elle Manley, and Skylar and Preston Dontje, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

A memorial Mass honoring Lise’s life will be held at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch, GA on Saturday, March 9 at 2 p.m. Following the service, a reception will be held at the Four Seasons on Lanier Lake Clubhouse at 6526 Sunset Ct. Flowery Branch, GA 30542.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made either to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Atlanta Humane Society, in honor of Lise’s courageous battle with MD and her love for animals.

May Lise rest in eternal peace, her legacy of love, kindness, and laughter enduring in the hearts of all who knew her.
