Kathleen “Kat” Harris was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed away on September 29, 2021 at Piedmont Eastside Medical Center after a brief illness. Kathleen was born in Royston, GA to the late Thurston and Lila Brown on April 25, 1945. She married the love of her life, Joseph Douglas Harris on December 25, 1958. Together, they had a daughter, Reneè. Kathleen worked alongside Douglas for many, many years until retirement. She was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church and loved her church family dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, loved Christmas, and worked so hard to make sure everyone she came into contact with knew just how special they were to her. Kathleen had a way with words. You never had to question where you stood with her. You never had to question her love for you, and for that, we are all forever grateful. She will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Kathleen is survived by her husband Douglas, daughter Reneè (Nathaniel) Ray, and grandchildren Ashley (Edner) Louis and Joseph Ray. A visitation for family & friends will be held at Byrd & Flanigan Crematory and Funeral Service (Lawrenceville, GA) on Tuesday, October 5th from 11 am-12 pm. Visitation for friends will be held from 12 pm-2 pm. Funeral services will be held immediately following the visitation at 2 pm with Pastor Bill Manus officiating. Interment will follow at Ga National Cemetery in Canton GA on Monday, October 25, 2021 at 2:00 pm.
