Judy “Dianne” Brannan, age 79, passed away surrounded by her adoring family, on Wednesday, August 5, 2020. She was born and raised in Stone Mountain, Georgia, and graduated from Stone Mountain High School in 1959. Dianne married William “Billy” Brannan in 1960 and they were happily married for 57 years until his passing in 2018. She worked for the State of Georgia, Gwinnett County Schools, as well as a family-owned wallpaper store until retiring in 2003. Dianne enjoyed meticulously maintaining her beautiful flower garden and helping grow vegetables to sell out of their carport to neighbors and loyal longtime customers. She also loved to kayak, travel, and playing cards with her family and friends. Our memories are full of countless beach vacations to St. George Island, Florida where she could out fish just about anyone, and so cherished chasing her grandchildren around like little crabs on the beach as they grew up too quickly, as kids do. She was never known as a “cat person,” but a stray in need that showed up at her door a few years ago changed all of that, and Dianne thoroughly enjoyed and loved her Angel, too. Dianne was fun-loving and always known for her bright beautiful smile, and her strength and courage were an inspiration throughout her life. She was a dedicated wife, daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister and will be immeasurably missed. She is survived by her son, Todd Brannan and wife Lisa of Blue Ridge, daughter Donna Izer and husband David of Jasper; Four grandchildren, Madison Blackmon and fiancé Trey Hagey, Meredith Hardie and husband Tyler, Danielle Bellavance and husband Kenny, Hunter Brannan and wife Courtney, and great-granddaughters Brynn and Emory Bellavance, and Ayla Brannan; She is also survived by her sisters Carolyn Cown and husband Billy, Nancy McCurdy, John Daniel and wife Patti, Elaine Thomas and husband Jack. In death, Dianne is preceded by her husband William Colbert Brannan, and her parents J.T. and Marion Daniel, and beloved brother, David Daniel. A private graveside service will be held at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. Arrangements by Byrd & Flanigan Funeral Service Lawrenceville GA. ByrdandFlanigan.com
