In Loving Memory of Jim James Joseph Blankenship Jr., known to many as Jim or Joey, aged 56, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on October 27th, 2023 due to complications from heart disease. Jim was born on July 26th, 1967 to James Blankenship Sr. and Wanda (Hatfield) Blankenship in Bluefield, West Virginia.
Jim. lived a life deeply rooted in his faith. He was a devoted Christian who found strength, guidance, and comfort in his spiritual beliefs. Jim was a member of Covenant Life Church in Lawrenceville, GA, where he found spiritual growth and well-being within the congregation.
Family was at the center of Jim's world. He was a loving and doting grandparent who cherished every moment spent with his beloved grandchildren, Scott Mcpherson Jr., Hunter Blankenship, and Bryson Mcrae. Jim often regaled them with silly tales, sprinkled with his trademark humor, and created memories that will be treasured for a lifetime.

In addition to his deep religious faith, James Joseph Blankenship Jr. had a passion for worldly cuisine, being an outdoorsman, music, and movies, often sharing these passions with his family. He found joy in carpentry with his father, fishing with his children, going to shows with his sons, and trying new restaurants with his loving wife. These moments brought happiness to his life.
James Joseph Blankenship Jr. is survived by his adoring wife Wanda (Strnad) Blankenship, Christopher Strnad (son), James & Heather Blankenship III (son), Susan & Scott McPherson (daughter), Ashley & Travis Lake (daughter), Scott McPherson Jr.(grandson), Hunter Blankenship (grandson), Bryson Mcrae (grandson), and a host of other family members and friends who were touched by his love, faith, and humor.
