James Cecil Reeves of Good Hope, GA passed away January 12, 2021. Born Dec. 17, 1944 to Clayton and Runell Reeves, he was married to his gal Annie Ruth for 55 years. Cecil was a hard-working, wonderful provider whose word was his bond. A strong, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather he loved hunting and fishing and was known for his wonderful tomatoes and vegetables from his garden which he freely gave to everyone.
Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Runell Reeves and his brother-in-law Clifford Puckett. He is survived by his wife Annie Ruth Reeves; son Brian and his wife Penny, son Eric and his wife Erin, daughter Heather and her husband Jay Dokes; grandchildren Nikki and Rob Corbet, Melinda and James Sullivan, Casie and Charles Reid, Dustin and Amanda Reeves, Samantha, Jaeda, Jason, and Brooks Dokes; ten great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Linda Sullivan and Allene Whaley: aunt Betty Reeves; cousins Billie McCormick and Stevie Reeves; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in his memory to GWA Cure Dogs, c/o Vickie Rollins, 1 Bulldog Drive, Monroe, GA 30655. The George Walton Academy Cure Dawgs are a group of GWA teachers and staff dedicated to supporting our families during times of life changing medical crisis. Our mission is to raise money to help support our families during these difficult times.
A private celebration of life will be held with immediate family at a later date.
