Ila B Martin, age 95 - passed away in Dacula, GA on January 9, 2020 from a battle with CHF. Ila was born Oct 6, in Euclid OH to the late Robert and Irene Buell. Ila was an avid quilter where she was known for her fearless quilting style and her quirky sense of humor. She also was a steward to all until she could no longer due so. Over her life, Ila had lived in many cities in Ohio due to her husband’s Sales occupation as well as a few years in Chester, IL, Humboldt, TN and Port Washington, NY before they settled in Charlotte, NC in 1974. She lived there until 2014 when she moved to Dacula, GA with her daughter and her daughter’s husband. Ila is survived by her daughter Terri Howard and son-in-law Lynn Howard, granddaughters Rachel Howard and Brittany Davis as well as grandson-in-law Bayard Davis and great-grandson Sebastian Davis, all of Dacula, GA. Also her sister Bette Bartholomew of Salisbury, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert L Martin and her son Timothy I Martin. Ila will be honored in a Memorial Mass at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Winder, GA on February 8, 2020 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow immediately after in the Church Reception hall. Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Ila will be remembered for her abundant collection of fabric to throw a quilt together as needed and to some type of adventure – even if it meant getting lost.
