I have more good memories of Gary than I could ever express. We met when I was ten year’s old, when Gary and I were on the same little league baseball team . My dad was the coach, and we picked Gary up at his home on Church Street on our way to Glenlake Park for practice and games. We continued this routine for the three years we played together. We did not go to the same Grammar School, but we did feed into Druid Hills High School together. We continue our relationship through high school playing football together and just good old fashion hanging out together for those five years. We went on the ultimate road trip together as we celebrated Spring Break 1969 in Daytona Beach together. Rick Miller now deceased, Gary Settle, living in Greenville, Creech and me, were the Daytona crew. Gary’s mom was an absolute angel and it was easy to see where he acquired his kindness and even nature. Gary’s older brother, David and my older brother Barron, were also good friends and were on the Gymnastics team at Druid Hills. When I went off to college in North Carolina, it was Gary that drove me off to school, 500 miles round trip. We stayed in touch over the years and through his years at GE Supply. At about age 40 life got in the way, as it does for a lot of things, we lost contact. I never lost those great memories. Gary is the Godfather of my oldest son, Colin Daniel. He was a good friend and a great person.

In reading his obituary, it easy to see that he was a beloved family man. I am saddened for your loss, but all those good memories do help.
My sincerest condolence.
