Elaine Holiday was born on May 20th, 1939 in Harlem New York to the late Nola and Nathan Miller. Elaine was the 2nd of seven children: Erma, Joan, Nola, Nathaniel, Richard and Noreen who preceded her in death.
Elaine attended P.S. 10, Julia Ward Howe Junior High School, and The High School of Commerce New York City. She was an honor roll student throughout her years in school. Elaine married William Holiday on April 11th, 1959. From this union, they had 4 beautiful children: William (Kal-El), Damon (deceased), Gail and Mikaela. They were together 64 wonderful years. After the birth of her children, Elaine attended the State University of New York and received her degree in Nursing.
Elaine enjoyed her career as a registered nurse and especially enjoyed working with geriatric patients. She retired from nursing in 2001. Elaine also volunteered as a school aide at J.H.S. 72 in Queens N.Y. (where her children attended school) before becoming President of the Parent Teacher’s Association. Elaine loved to read and was never seen without a book in her hand. Reading, watching movies, playing computer games, and traveling were her hobbies. Hawaii, Africa, and touring Europe are just a few of the places she and her husband Bill have visited. Elaine lived in New York most of her life before moving to Savannah Georgia and then next to the Atlanta Georgia area, specifically Hoschton.
Early on July 3rd, 2023, Elaine transitioned peacefully in her sleep at home. Elaine will forever remain in the hearts of her husband William (Bill); her children William (Kal-El) , Gail, and Mikaela; her grandsons: Dillon and Davon; Her sister Joan (and her husband Joe); her brothers: Richard and Nathaniel (and his wife Mildred) and a host of nieces and nephews; family and friends.
