David Charles King Smith was born on April 14, 1948 in Lawrenceville, Georgia to the late Frank Smith and Helen King. David departed this life on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 in Snellville, Georgia. David was raised in Lawrenceville, GA where he attended and graduated from Hooper Renwick High School. On December 29, 1970 he committed himself to become a soldier in the U.S Army, wherved wholeheartedly and earned a Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged from the Army on January 3, 1974 due to injuries obtained on the battlefield. Upon his return to civilian life in Lawrenceville, David worked as a construction worker for his uncle (Plennie King) and used his relentless determination and laboring skills to take on the supervisor position where he served for many years before retiring. On January 1, 2009, David found love and married Agnes J Walker (Kenya) and they lived together in Snellville, Georgia. Along with his wife, David leaves to cherish 8 daughters, Tammi L Riden, Demetrius D. King, Alenda King Baldwin(Sanders) Kimberly King and, Phebe, Mercy, Tanneh and Aryee Walker. 12 grandchildren, Marquel S. Mapp(Erica), Omari Riden, Shamarcus Grimes, Talisa Tolbert, Alonte Clemons, and Orisha Miller and Shamira, Dasha, Micheal, Zyair, and DeAndre Walker 7 sisters, Joyce(Charles) Jackson, Marilyn (Eddie) Huley, Suzanne King David and Frankie (Eric) Williams , Jacqueline (Gary) Bolden, Shandrum Bailey, and Donna Howel. 1 Brother, Ronald King, special brothers and sisters of the Kali family, the White family, and the Irons family, as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and
cousins. David was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Sarafina Baldwin.
