Carlton "Lynn" Howard

Carlton Lynn Howard, age 60 - Lynn to all- passed away in Dacula, GA on January 30, 2020, from a sudden illness. Lynn was born Sept 7 in Burlington, NC to the late Pete and Peggy Howard. Lynn was an avid baseball player growing up. He started playing at the age of 5. Eventually when he attended Walter Williams HS in Burlington, NC where he played Varsity baseball as a Pitcher and 1st baseman. He then went on scholarship to Lenoir Community College and Lenoir Rhyne College. Lynn spent most of his work career in Customer Service for Fine Printing papers. Lynn moved to Charlotte, NC after college and his marriage in 1982 and spent a good deal of his off work time umpiring and coaching or watching his daughter Rachel play softball or attend his daughter Brittany’s Soccer or marching band events. Lynn will be remembered for his ability to be a friend to all and the sense of humor he brought to them daily. Lynn is survived by his wife Terri, daughters Rachel Howard and Brittany Davis as well as son-in-law Bayard Davis and grandson Sebastian Davis, all of Dacula, GA. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Howard of Durham NC. Lynn will be honored in a Memorial Mass at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Winder, GA on February 8, 2020 at 11:00 am.  A reception will follow immediately after in the Church Reception hall.
