Beverly Bowen

Beverly Andrea Bowen (January 11th, 1960 - March 1, 2024  She was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1960 to Edna Smith. She was the sixth child out of seven siblings. She started working as a waitress at 11 years old where she changed her age to help support her family. This is where she briefly met Joe Bowen, her future husband. Beverly attended high school at Forest Park High School. It was during that time that she went on a double date and was reintroduced to Joe Bowen. Shortly thereafter, Joe proposed, and they married on July 3rd, 1976.

Bev and Joe started their family a few years later. She gave birth to two wonderful sons who kept her busy being a full time mom. She dearly loved her three beautiful grandchildren along with her grandcat and granddog. Beverly was very compassionate and never hesitated to help her family and others. She took in two of her nieces and helped raise them for several years. She also donated to many charities to help those in need. She loved music and dancing. She enjoyed playing tennis for many years and was fond of animals and nature, especially birds and flowers. She had a strong bond with her many pets.

Beverly is preceded in death by brothers Mark and Ray and her sister Missy. She is survived by her loving husband Joe, her sons Joey and Nick, her daughter-in-laws Sarah and Bianca, and her grandchildren Baylee, Rylynn, and Dylan. She is also survived by her sisters Betty, Judy, and Sherry, her nieces Jen and Jess, and other beloved family and friends.

Memorial visitation will be at Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Home on Thursday March 7, 2024 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm.
