Arlene Kay Hammond, 69, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on October 25, 2022. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 5th at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Andy Lett will be presiding the memorial at the Sugarloaf Campus Fountain Church, 1795 Old Peachtree Rd NW, Duluth, GA 30097.
Arlene started in a one room schoolhouse in Kansas, but her life ended up much bigger than that. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Meredith College. She continued her education in Christ throughout her life. She worked in the finance industry with Edward Jones; worked in the automobile industry for SAAB USA cars but her favorite job was office administrator for Herschend Family Entertainment where she met many famous people. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling the world from Canada to Tasmania. Her favorite country was Ireland, the people there were friendly, and kind just like her. She always wanted to make a return visit.
Arlene loved everyone she met; they all gave back so much more love. She loved organizing events; that was one of her many talents. Her favorite sayings were: “Everywhere you go someone is watching, you should always make a good impression;” and “It’s that extra ten percent effort that leaves the best impressions.” She lived both philosophies to the fullest.
Arlene was the daughter of Alice and Wilbur Graver. Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Randall David Hammond, daughters Chandra Noel Lackey (husband Paul Lackey), Chennille Lea Preston (husband Steve Preston), grandsons Caleb Preston and Ryder Preston, her brothers Kent Graver (wife Lisa) and Randall Graver (wife Geralyn)
