William Ronald Taylor age 78 of Dacula, GA; passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2016, at Gwinnett Medical Center in Lawrenceville, Georgia after a brief illness.  He was born at Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa, GA on June 13, 1938, and was the only son of R. Guy Taylor & Macy Whitehead Taylor of Toccoa, Ga.  He is survived by his wife Carol Glaze Taylor as well as loving children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, dear cousins, and loving friends.  Ron taught art, drawing, and graphics at the University of NC, Charlotte, and also at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.  He had a studio in Boone for many years and was an amazing artist who was well known for his beautiful children's portraits.  He later moved back to Toccoa, GA; where his studio had an open door policy welcome to anyone with an interest in art of any kind.  His studio was the center of "Garbo Graphics" which he operated with his partner and dear friend Shawn Fullington.  He branched out into many areas of art, and together, they created incredible digital art, however, children's portraits were his enduring love.  It was common to see his many friends at his studio at all hours celebrating art and life with this amazing artist and man.  His circle of friends is numerous and well loved in return.  They are all included as his family for that is how he loved everyone.  If you are Ron Taylor's friend, you are also his family.  He will be missed by so many.  A celebration of Ron's life will be planned at a later date.  Arrangements by Byrd & Flanigan Crematory And Funeral Service Lawrenceville, GA; (770)962-2200 ByrdandFlanigan.com
