Tracy Renee Batts

It is with deep love and thankfulness that we were able to share a sliver in time with a beautiful heart and soul.

Tracy was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI to Carolyn M. Batts (Lewis Thomas) and Robert L. Finney (Anita L. Finney).

Born just 2 days before Christmas, Tracy was the best present her family could have asked for. Her addiction to their lives only made life better. Tracy was a handful growing up, always a stray in tow. But that fiery spirit and love for all creatures made her grow into the beautiful woman we all have had the privilege to know.

Over the years Tracy traveled and lived in various cities before settling in Georgia, where she spent her final days surrounded by family and friends. Tracy lived a life defined by helping the people in her life and every animal that she came across in need. Tracy was determined to make a way for her family by working hard and never let the hard times break her spirit. She is an example of strength and grace that will never be forgotten.

On June 6, 2026, after suffering for way too long, Tracy succumbed to the cancer that attacked her body. Now we have 1 more angel up there looking out for us as she did in life. Her beautiful spirit and soul are forever with us.

Tracy leaves behind 2 daughters Deidra D. DeFrance (Brandon DeFrance) and Britney N. Middleton (Bobby Middleton Jr.) plus 13 ½ grandchildren (11 boys and 2 girls and 1 on the way). 2 brothers Stephen R. Tyson (Camden, AR) and Hollis L. Finney (Milwaukee, WI), 2 sisters; Tanya M. Tyson (Milwaukee, WI) and Patrice L. Jones (Milwaukee, WI). Plus, numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends across this country. Tracy also leaves behind her Target family. She spoke very fondly and often about them. We are proud to include

Tracy’s Target family as our own. Our family wants to express our deepest gratitude to everyone far and near who loved and got to have this light from a special woman we hold close to our hearts: Tracy Renee Batts.

As part of Tracy’s last wishes: She wants everyone to remember her by donating to your closest animal shelter in her name. When you are feeling lost and alone, look up into the night sky and that star twinkling and shining brighter than the rest is Tracy watching over us and reminding us to never give up.
