Thelma Theodosia Watts was born on April 2, 1922 to the late Luvinia Caroline George and the late Elijah James Watts.

She graduated from the College of West Africa [CWA] in 1939 and from the Firestone Hospital as a registered nurse and mid-wife in 1944.

She had two sons, Samuel D. Cummings, Jr. [deceased] and Alvin H. Graham, Sr. [Jennifer]

Grandchildren: Samuel D. Cummings III [Sheryl]; Charlotte A. Graham; Alvin H. Graham Jr. and Stephenette A. Graham and also grandchildren who were near and dear to her and who provided love and care to her all the time: Charles T.O. King IV [Bonnie]; Stephen A. King, Esq. [Adrienne]; Rhys A. Flowers.

Great grandchildren: J.B; Mycah ; "T"; Kiana; Alyssa; Kareem and Elijah

She worked with Dr. J.B. Titus for many years at Public Health in Mamba Point. An Episcopalian from birth – confirmed under the late Reverend G. W. Gibson

She delivered over 270 babies: James E. Pierre, Gwendolyn Pierre, Alexander A. Pierre, Luvinia Cooper, Gracella Doe, Olivia Shannon, who shared the same birthday, Rosie Kennedy, Maureen Wilson, Luritz Parker, Geraldine Pierre, Patrick Togbah just to name a few.

Nurtured and reared several children including Vera Graham, Jane Graham, Joseph Graham, Jr., Varney Graham, William Bernard, Artlaine Russell and Michael Thomas.

We have to mention the close friends in New Jersey who were extremely helpful to her during that time: Julia Johnson and her daughter, Florine; Beauty Adighibe and also Ruby & Ken Duncan who faithfully picked her up for Church.

A few of her classmates, some who pre-deceased already and some who are still with us: Julia Wesley, Tennah Barclay, Marie Johnson, Williette Johnson, Willis Knuckles Sr., Samuel B. Cooper, Mai Grimes.

Her bosom buddies, some who have also pre-deceased her and others still with us: Izetta Cooper, Nancy Cooper, Myrtle Bruce, Amelia Smith, Emma Walser, Blanche Lawrence, Rosaline Porte, Antoinette Tubman, Doris Grimes, Mai DeShield, Corrina Hilton-Van Ee. Most of these ladies were known as the "Hold Up Hand Committee" and were always there to support those in need.
