April 17, 1960 – March 31, 2025
Tamie Miller, 64, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away on March 31, 2025. Born in Atlanta, Tamie was a proud Georgia native and the daughter of Esther W. Miller and Herbert Miller. In the 1980s and 1990s, she served as the head makeup artist for CNN before transitioning to become a school bus driver for Gwinnett County Public Schools, where she touched many lives.
Tamie was preceded in death by her sisters Carolyn Dorotha Casteel Taylor and Myrna Lankford. She is survived by her daughter, Mikhaila Miller, daughter's fiancé, William Cooper, sisters, Jan Brinegar and Gloria Crowder, nephew, Ean Jansson, nephew's wife and son, MaKayla Jansson and Sabastean Jansson, and many more nieces and nephews.
A strong advocate for those with Lupus, Tamie lived with the disease and led a local Lupus support group for many years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Lupus Foundation of America – Georgia Chapter , an organization that was close to her heart. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday April 4, 2025 at 3:30 pm in the chapel of Byrd & Flanigan Funeral Service Lawrenceville GA; with Pastor Tim Taffar officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 pm until time of service.
