Sydney Bismarck Davies, 87 of Lilburn, GA, passed away on March 29, 2017. Sydney was born on March 21, 1930 in Cline Town, Sierra Leone to Sydney and Olamike (Fraser) Davies.

He attended the Prince of Wales secondary school in Freetown Sierra Leone and earned a diploma in education (Dip. Ed.) from the University of Durham, England. Bismarck became the Assistant Registrar at the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and rose to become the head of Office in Sierra Leone and the most senior officer in WAEC. He served as a member of the Government Scholarship Committee and on the Board of Governors at the Bishop Johnson Memorial School in Sierra Leone.

He is survived by his wife, Iyalode Dorcas Davies; Children, Sydney Ade (Anne) Davies; Olu Ian (Melrose) Davies; Richmond (Christine) Davies; Olabisi (Edmund) Thomas; Sister, Theodora (Akin) Songo-Williams; Brother-in-law, Jimmy During; Sisters-in law, Hannah Allen, Cassandra Davies, and Tabitha Pratt; Grand Children, Nicholas, Tine, Adeniji, Akinyele, Adekunle, Holly, Fraser, and Murray.

Several nieces and nephews including Winston Clay, Eku Harding, Olatunde, Olujimmy, Adesina and Olatayo (During family); Derek, Morondia and Olamike (Davies family); John, Arthur and Annette (Songo-Williams family); Victor, Olivia, Margery and Olamike (Thomas Family).

Other relatives and close friends including the Davies and Davies Family, Fraser, Fraser-Davies, Iscandari, Pearce,  Sanusi-Ball, Lisk, Sho-Sawyerr, Chaytor, and Jones families, and Prince Waleans of Atlanta, Georgia (USA) and Freetown, Sierra Leone, Arthur Jones-Dove, Norman Cole, Adebayo Williams, The Akiwumi's, Edmunda Olga Thomas, Joscelyn and Josephine Jarrett, Tuboku-Metzgar families in Georgia, and Ekundayo Bidwell Johnson & family.
