Sybil Peters Friedrichs, age 83 of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of Snellville Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of family and friends on Thursday, December 1, 2022.

Sybil graduated from Snellville High School in 1957 where she was crowned the first Miss Snellville. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and sang in the Choir. In 1961 she earned her Bachelor of Education degree from Tift College in Forsyth, Georgia and then her Master of Education degree from the University of Georgia. Sybil was an educator for over 30 years, 7 of which were spent teaching 5th grade at WC Britt Elementary School, in Snellville, Georgia. In 1974 she was awarded the first "Outstanding Young Educator Award" from the Snellville Jaycees. In 1983 she and her family moved to Delray Beach, Florida where she continued teaching until retiring in 1998. She was a member of the Seagate Country and Beach Club for 39 years. She was a beloved wife, mother, aunt, and friend. She loved animals, the beach, traveling abroad, entertaining and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Friedrichs Jr., her parents, A.W. Peters and Avis McCart Peters, her brother Dwight Peters, and her niece, Pam Chadwick Steele. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Michelle Friedrichs Paulsen, of Winder, Georgia, Chris Friedrichs and spouse John Davis of Orlando, Florida, and Howard Friedrichs lll and spouse Linda Friedrichs of Detroit, Michigan, her sister Barbara Peters Chadwick of  Snellville, Ga and several loved nieces and cousins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11am on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Byrd & Flanigan Crematory & Funeral Service, 288 Hurricane Shoals Rd NE, Lawrenceville, GA 30046 with a reception Immediately to follow at Byrd and Flanigan.
