Stewart Leigh "Stu" Milam [60] of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on May 21, 2021.

Stewart was born in Oak Park, Illinois on July 6, 1960.  He graduated from Marissa High School in southern Illinois and Southern Illinois University in Carbondale with a computer science degree.  After college, Stewart served four years in the United States Air Force.  Stewart married Marsha Ann Payne on December 5, 1985 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Stu worked in the computer science field with Georgia Pacific for 17 years and Sun Country Bank for many years.  For thirty years, he dedicated himself to the research of spinal cord injuries, providing in-home medical care for his quadriplegic son. He enjoyed following the Atlanta Braves baseball team.

Stewart is survived by Marsha Milam, spouse; Spencer Leigh Milam, son: Nicole Ann Milam, daughter; Justin Payne; step-son and his son, Sebastian, Benjamin F. Milam and Bonnie Milam, parents; Steven W. Milam, brother; and Michael D. Milam, brother. Sisters in law Pam Payne, Tammy Payne, Terri Payne. Stewart was preceded in death by his brother Paul Thomas Milam.

A Celebration Of Life Service will be held at 3:30 pm Tuesday, June 1, 2021 from the chapel of Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Taffar officiating. Arrangements by Byrd and Flanigan Crematory & Funeral Service, Lawrenceville. 770-962-2200
