Samuel J. Ellis of Winder, Ga, formerly of the Prospect community, Walland, Tn., passed away at his home on December 6, 2020. He was 87 years old. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judy Newberry Ellis; his son Mike (Marilyn) Ellis, and daughter Shannon (Dwight) Wehr. Grandchildren: Amanda (Zach) Smith, Stephen Ellis, Victoria Wehr, and Samuel Wehr. Two great-grandaughters: Lillian and Evelyn Smith. He was the "middle" child of 13 children. He greatly loved his siblings; missing those who preceded him in death and is survived by brothers Marvin E. Ellis, Kenneth E. Ellis, sisters Dortha Gilland, and Kathryn Williams. There are also numerous nieces and nephews who were always a joy to see at family reunions. There will be a memorial service on Saturday Dec. 19, at 2:00.
