Robert Dunlap Weathers, Jr. passed peacefully on November 15, 2024, age 65, after a courageous battle with cancer.  He lived life to the fullest.  Whether he was enjoying music, or cheering his sports teams (especially Alabama and Georgia Tech football), Rob gave it 100%.  He was a friend to many, an enemy to none. He was loved by all who met and knew him.

Rob retired from Home Depot.   His outstanding athletics at Lakeside High School earned him both football and track scholarships at Presbyterian College and Georgia Tech.  Earlier this year Rob was inducted into the Lakeside High School Sports Hall of Fame for his track and football accomplishments.  This was a huge honor for him and his family.  He was very proud of his service in the US Army and his time in Germany.

Rob was with his loving wife Sandi for 22 years.  He was preceded in death by his father Robert and mother Ann.  He is survived by his sisters Lane Allen (Courtney) of Braselton, Laura Holl of Newnan, Leigh Wilson (Chris) of Lilburn; his nephews Daniel Holl (Maggie), Matthew Holl (Alyssa), and Lane Holl (Taylor) all of Newnan; his dear grandniece Hartley, and grandnephews Preston and Cache, of Newnan.  Many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins were loved and very important to Rob all of his life. He was a force of life, and touched the hearts of so many.  He has left such an empty spot in our lives.  We will miss him dearly.

A Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Briarcliff Woods Beach Club at 1830 Morris Landers Dr NE, Atlanta, GA 30345.  The family requests that family and friends wear casual attire that would remind you of Rob.
