Richard Posea age 91 of Lawrenceville GA, passed away on Thursday , June 29, 2017. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II as a parachute rigger. He received several medals of honor for his outstanding service including the American Area Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Medal,  World War II Victory Medal and Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He served in the printing business for 32 years working with local area printing companies.  He also worked with Dekalb County Watershed Management where he retired after twelve years of service. Richard attended Antioch Baptist College Musical Program under the director of Marlon Thomas. He was a charter member of Gwinnett Hall Baptist Church where he served as the original clerk and chorister for many years. He was a faithful member of Cross Roads Baptist for 30 years. He loved his church family dearly. He was a member of the Cross Roads Christian Campers group. He also enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Archie and Beautrice Aikens Posea and his brothers Robert, Frank and Gibby. He is survived by his wife of sixty eight years, Mrs. Faye Posea. They were married on February 23, 1949.  They were soul mates. They enjoyed many camping excursions together traveling throughout the United States.  He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law Jimmy and Barbara Posea of Auburn Georgia . Extended family including  Cousin, Vera and Chester Rwireman, of Las Vegas, Nevada.

A Celebration of Richard's Life will be held Sunday , July 2, 2017 , at 2:30 pm at Cross Roads Baptist Church, Lawrenceville Georgia. Pastor Kenny Kuykendall and Associate Pastor Buddy Rhodes will officiate. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford Georgia with Rev. Lloyd Ferguson officiating.

The family will receive friends on Saturday , July 1, 2017 , from 6-9 pm at Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Service in Lawrenceville Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cross Roads Baptist Church Building Fund, 1391 Braselton Hwy.
