Patricia Diane "Treecie" Owens, the seventh child born to the late John C. Owens and Elsie Mae Burks Owens, was born on January 15, 1954, in Louisville, KY and departed this life on March 23, 2017, in Marietta, Georgia after a brief and private battle with breast cancer.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined First Baptist Church of Jeffersontown, KY where she thrived in church fellowship and various youth activities including the Sunbeam youth choir, and the Girl Scouts.

Patricia was a graduate of Jeffersontown High School, as a member of the National Honor Society, and the University of Louisville. She later attended Ohio State University.

After college, she moved to Los Angeles, California where she resided until 2005. Patricia then moved to the Atlanta, GA area to be near family and to enjoy spending time with daughters Tricia and Rachel and her three grandchildren.

She was known as a "free spirit," and believed in living life on her "own terms". She was an avid reader, and an advocate of the holistic, organic lifestyle. Her bubbly personality and infectious laughter will be missed by everyone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie Owens, and sisters, Nora Owens Fleming and Barbara Owens Miller.

Those left to cherish the beautiful memories of her life include: two daughters, Tricia Calvin Jay (Scott) and Rachel Kanda; Siblings Alvin Owens (Janie) of Boynton Beach, FL, Mattie Haskins (Milton) of Louisville, KY, Ronald Owens (Catherine) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Lucille Owens of Louisville, KY; beloved grandchildren Adam Laroussi, Elise Jay, Eden Jay; and a host of other relatives and friends . Patricia will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

She saw the road was getting rough,
the hills were hard to climb,
she gently closed her loving eyes,
and whispered , " Peace be thine."
The weary hours, the days of pains
t
he sleepless nights are passed ,
the ever patient worn out frame
has found sweet rest at last.
