IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Lee
Fitzpatrick
September 19, 1973 – August 17, 2024
SGT. Michael Lee Fitzpatrick, 50, passed away Saturday August 17th after a short battle with GI cancer. He had a 17-year career as a firefighter and paramedic with the Union City Fire Department, a career in which he took much pride. He was also a proud father; when he wasn't at work you would easily find him at one of his kids sporting practices or events, proudly cheering on his wrestler, swimmers, or at the volleyball court, or soccer field. He loved his wife and family dearly, and most enjoyed time away with them at the beach, or even just sitting around a firepit in their backyard. He was also ready to show friends that he loved them through entertaining; ready to gather with friends at short notice and work with his loving wife to whip up a delicious meal and guarantee a memorable night. Those who loved him will remember his good nature: he was a more-the-merrier type person, a great storyteller, always ready for a laugh, and always ready to listen and dance to good music, out at a concert or in the kitchen. He was a helper by profession and by nature: the person you wanted there when you needed an assist. His love for life and love for those around him is easily captured in what he would frequently tell anyone he could: "I'm the luckiest guy I know." In addition to his many brothers and sisters in the Fire Department, he leaves behind his wife Erika, Son Liam, Daughters Kenley and Senna, his Mother Judy, Sister Erin, and many cousins, uncles, aunts and friends who will miss him dearly. A celebration of life is planned for Thursday September 19th at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church, 1520 Oak Road, Snellville GA 30078 at 3 o'clock. All who cared for him are invited to attend.
