Melvin (Buddy) Barnett Farrell Jr.

Melvin “Buddy” Barnett Farrell Jr., age 69, passed away on January 20, 2026. He was born on March 11, 1956, and was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Barnett Farrell Sr., and his mother, Betty Jo Farrell. Buddy will be remembered for the simple joys that brought him so much happiness. He loved cheering on Georgia football and the Atlanta Braves, spending quiet hours painting or working carefully on his model airplanes. Grilling for family and friends was one of his favorite ways to show love, and his cats were constant companions who brought him comfort and peace. These passions, along with his steady presence and love, will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Buddy is survived by his fiancée, Beth McCullough; his daughter, Jennifer (Michael) Driskell; his two sons, Christopher (Jessica) Farrell and Brent Farrell; his two sisters, Gail Farrell and Sharon Farrell; his nephew, Robbie Walsh; and his six grandchildren: Emily Driskell, Colton Driskell, Autumn Driskell, Lance Farrell, Arianna Farrell, and Lilly Farrell.

He is also survived by his three beloved fur babies, Cali, Grayson, and Poopydoo, who brought him much comfort and joy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday January 31, 2026 from the chapel of Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday January 31, 2026 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home.
