Matthew Sheffield age 79 of Conyers, GA; passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017. He was born on September 17, 1938, in Hawkinsville, GA; and was a 1955 graduate of Hawkinsville high school. He was preceded in death by his parents Givins Lester Sr. step-mother, Christine Lester, mother, Frances Clark brothers, Arthur Clark, Mack Lester Sr., Givins Lester Jr. sisters, Louella Lester Shenita Bembry, He married Hazel Brimley in 1958. Mr. Sheffield was a previous member of Church of God by faith in Montezuma, Ga, and currently, a member of World Changers Church-Norcross, GA; and was retired from Allied Chemical Company. He is survived by daughters; Corliss Sheffield of Conyers, GA; Cassandra Sheffield of Irvington, NJ; Carol Sheffield of Lawrenceville, GA; Francine Sheffield of Newark, New Jersey, son, Dexter Thomas of New Jersey, grandchildren, Keyama Tisdale, Daniella Terrell, Jayvon Sheffield, Shannae Upton, great-grandchildren, Imani Sheffield, Renniya Pettaway, Jamar Terrell Jr., Alexandria Tisdale, Ayden Tisdale, Makailah Upton, Anthony Upton, Jahrell Sheffield, brothers, Darren Undra (Vivian) Lester of Athens, GA; Sinclair (Heather) Lester of Corona, California, sisters; Julia M. Moon of Atlanta, GA; Christine D.(Doris Gibson of Atlanta, GA; Rhetta J. (Jean) Porter of Hawkinsville, GA; Gwendolyn L. (Lois) Grace of Perry, GA. The Family will receive friends on  Friday, March 24, 2017, from 12:00 - 7:30 pm at the funeral home, and Saturday, March 25, 2017, from 10:00 - 11:00 am at World Changers Church Norcross, GA. A celebration of Matthew's Life will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at 11:00 AM at World Changers Church - Norcross, GA; with Minister Michael Jones officiating.
