IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Margarita Valdez
Serna
March 6, 1995 – August 31, 2025
Margarita "Maggie" Valdez Serna passed away on August 31, 2025, at the age of 30. She was born in Mexico on March 6, 1995, and moved to California before the age of one. After spending time traveling back and forth between California and Mexico, Maggie and family eventually settled in Georgia in 1999, where she made her home until her passing.
Maggie is survived by her loving parents, Eleazar Valdez and Margarita Serna, and by her many siblings: Carolina Valdez (GA), Kristian Gil (Mexico), Susana Valdes Sauceda (CA), Veronica Ruan (CA), Oralia Torres (CA), Patricia Carrera (Mexico), Juan Carlos Valdez (Mexico), Jose A. Gil (Mexico), Eleazar Valdez Jr. (Mexico), and Jorge A. Valdez (Mexico).
She graduated from Norcross High School in 2013 and was pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Health Science. Most recently, Maggie worked for Waffle House Corporate Offices as a Tax Audit Specialist from August 2023 until August 2025.
Maggie was known for her vibrant spirit and many passions. She had a love-hate relationship with nature—she enjoyed kayaking but despised the heat. She loved doing puzzles with friends, reading, and sharing random facts and knowledge. Her sweet tooth was happiest with tiramisu from Lemon Sweets Bakery. Adventurous and fearless, Maggie was always ready to try new things. She was generous by nature, often bringing gifts wherever she went, and she had a gift for maintaining lifelong friendships, some dating back to her elementary school years.
Maggie's perfectionist streak shone in everything she did—and for good reason, as her work was always impeccable. She also loved going to the gym and proudly showing off her strength.
Maggie will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, and friend, whose adventurous heart, giving nature, and radiant presence touched everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
