Kuang Tai (Flo) Jacobson

Born May 11, 1947, in Singapore. Died peacefully on Dec. 19, 2023 at Northside Hospital, Cumming, GA with husband Ken and sons Cliff, and Ted at her bedside. She graduated high school in Singapore and then worked in retail fashion and modeling until Dec. 1970 when she moved to the USA to marry Ken on Feb. 13, 1971. During their 52 years of marriage, they lived in North Dakota, Minnesota, Tennessee, and then Cumming, GA in Aug. 2019. After the sons were both in school Flo enjoyed working at jobs as retail cashier in discount stores, and as a bank teller at a bank & later at a credit union. Flo was a great cook of both traditional American cuisine along with Chinese food.  The family pot-luck dinners on holidays were always a treat for the extended family, many of whom would have waited all year for Flo's special homemade egg rolls, homemade sweet and sour sauce, and fried rice.  There were always empty containers to bring home. Flo was a devoted mom to her two sons, Cliff and Ted, putting family above all else.  This included driving her sons in the harsh winter conditions in North Dakota so they could explore extra-curricular activities. Flo finally got her chance to help raise girls with the arrival of 3 granddaughters, Katie, Anna, and Emma.  Flo marveled at their boundless energy and ability to play and find joy in nearly anything. Flo was able to share her Chinese language with her granddaughters starting with counting numbers, greetings, and other basics. Flo spent the first 21 years of her life in Singapore & with that being an island country on the tip of Malaysia she learned to speak Malaysian. In addition to speaking Malaysian, & English; she also knew 5 dialects of Chinese.

She is survived by her husband (Ken), sons Cliff (Veronica), and Ted (Lang); granddaughters Katie (Ted & Lang), and Anna & Emma (Cliff & Veronika). Also Jacobson brother in laws Dan (Jackie) of Arnold, MD, Jay (Lorraine) of The Villages, FL, Al (Janelle) of Rugby, ND, Gerry (Terry) of Rugby, ND & Lester (Tatyana) of Arnold, MD, and sister in law Ruth Jackson of Fargo, ND.

In Singapore she is survived by brothers Andy, & Henry (Jaqueline); and 5 sisters Kuang You (Sin Was), Lai Kim (Kung Wee), See Long (Tony), Kuang Jing, and Wendy (Bunny). She was proceeded in death by her parents in Singapore.

There will be a memorial service at the Church of the Good Sheppard Catholic Church in Cumming, GA at a later date.
