James Kenneth "Ken" Lewis

Ken Lewis, 73, of Cumming, Georgia, formerly of Snellville, Georgia and Millen, Georgia passed away on March 22, 2017. Ken was born on November 28, 1943, to Edward and Grace Lewis.

Ken was a 1961 graduate of Jenkins County High School and attended Southern Technical Institute. He began his career in civil engineering with the Georgia Department of Transportation. After several years with the Georgia DOT, Ken transitioned to Pittman Construction Company where he served for 37 years in various roles, including Vice President.

Although Ken could be seen as a quiet man at times, he was extremely passionate about his faith, his family, and his love for sports, particularly Georgia Tech athletics. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Snellville for over 40 years, where he served as a deacon, usher, and finance committee member & Chairman.

Ken was preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years Jan Lewis, parents Eugene Lewis, Grace (Lewis) Dailey, Gordon Dailey, brothers, Ed Lewis, Gordon Dailey, Jr., Rick Dailey, sister Leah Faye Lewis, in-laws Gerald & Virginia Tipton, and nephew Kent Lewis.

He is survived by his son and daughter in law Scott & Stephanie Lewis, daughter and son in law Paige & Chris Lavergne, grandchildren Averi Lewis, Kendyl Lewis, Nolan Lavergne, Peyton Lavergne, brother and sister in law Eric & Judy Tipton, sister in law Becky Lewis, sister in law Marilyn Dailey Vaughan as well as other nieces and nephews.
