IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Judith Eileen
Bailey
June 10, 1953 – April 24, 2025
We are deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Judith Eileen Demaree Bailey, a devoted wife, loving mother, adored grandmother, caring sister, and a cherished friend. She was also an accomplished professional, gifted artisan, and lifelong Republican, who passed away on April 24, 2025, at the age of 71.
Judy shared a long relationship with her husband, Reginald M. Bailey, to whom she was married for over 26 years, and together as a couple for more than 40 years. Her devotion to Reggie was unwavering, placed his needs above her own every single day, caring for him with deep love, strength, and grace. They enjoyed many simple pleasures together, especially going out to dinner, dancing, and attending concerts.
Judy loved her daughter, Cassandra, deeply and was incredibly proud of her. When Cassandra and her husband Richard were a young couple, they spent a lot of time together with Judy and Reggie, often enjoying meals, playing card games, and boating.
Their time together was always filled with laughter, often so much so that they would laugh until they shed tears. Judy admired the way Cassandra was a wonderful mother to her grandchildren, Carlie and Grant, and took great pride in watching her daughter raise her own family with such love and devotion. As a family of six, they shared many memorable vacations together, including a cruise and several trips to Florida, creating cherished memories that spanned generations.
Judy's love for her grandchildren, Grant and Carlie, was immeasurable. Spending time with them brought her unmatched joy, whether it was treating them to a special dinner, surprising them with thoughtful gifts, or simply lavishing them with hugs and praise. One of her most cherished traditions was their annual birthday celebration at La Parilla, where she took immense pleasure in making them feel extra special. She loved when the waiters would sing Happy Birthday, and she always made sure to clap the loudest, capturing photos of them wearing the sombreros. Judy didn't just give them gifts-she gave them her time, her full attention, and her unwavering love. She celebrated every milestone and accomplishment with pride, always eager to tell anyone who would listen just how extraordinary her grandchildren were. Her devotion to them was one of the greatest joys of her life.
Professionally, she built a distinguished career at Alcatel-Lucent as an Engineering Project Scheduler and AutoCAD Subject Matter Expert, following earlier roles in engineering support, real estate, and property management. She earned an Associate Degree in Computer Information Systems from Gwinnett Technical College.
Judy was also an incredibly talented crafter and ran a successful small business, Judy Bag Co., where she created beautiful, customized gifts that brought joy to countless family members, friends, and loyal customers. Her creativity, attention to detail, and love of crafting were a true reflection of her generous heart.
Judy was a tireless advocate for conservative values and an active member of the Republican Party, serving in key leadership roles on the Gwinnett GOP Executive Committee for over 20 years, including as Secretary. Judy also contributed to the 7th and 13th District Committees, the Georgia State Committee, and served on the Rules, Hospitality, Budget, and Nominating Committees. She was honored to serve as an Alternate Delegate in 2024 and 2020, and as a Delegate for the 2016 and 2012.
Republican National Conventions. In addition, Judy was an officer with the Gwinnett Federation of Republican Women, where she served as both Secretary and Treasurer. She volunteered extensively in campaign efforts, including canvassing, phone banking, and election integrity work as a poll watcher and adjudicator during the 2020 and 2022 elections.
Judy was known for her smile that could light up any room and her infectious, unique Laugh which was sometimes a cackle brought a smile to all who heard it. She had a big, lovable, and kind personality. Her vibrant spirit was further highlighted by her signature red eyeglasses.
Outside of her professional and political achievements, Judy had a zest for life. While she was not a big drinker, she had one fateful experience with a mudslide cocktail that she instantly loved, and from then on, she made sure everyone around her had the opportunity to try one too! She also enjoyed attending outdoor concerts and shared these moments with friends and family, creating lasting memories and laughter. Judy attended church at 12 Stone Main Campus,
Judy is survived by her husband Reginald M. Bailey; her daughter, Cassandra Bambarger, and son-in-law, Richard; her cherished grandchildren, Carlie and Grant Bambarger; her sister, Joyce Nelson; her brother and sister-in-law, David and Patsy Bailey; many nieces and nephews, and hundreds of friends who loved her dearly.
