Johnny Earl Spell, 70, of Dacula, Georgia, passed away on April 22, 2026. He was a devoted husband to Cheryl Spell and a loving stepfather to Roger E. Tackett.

A quiet and steady presence, Johnny was a rock for his family—leading with patience, strength, and actions rather than words. He was a mentor and guiding influence to those around him.

He played an important role in raising his grandchildren, Taylor and Tarin, and his great-grandchildren, Braileigh and Brayden. He was also a proud grandfather to Tabitha and a loving great-grandfather to Kylie and Chloe.

He is survived by his mother, Eva Mae Spell; his sisters, Cheryl A. Spell and Nancy Spell Nowell; his brother-in-law, Donald Nowell; and his nephews, Adam Paul Sowell and Bradley Thomas Sowell. He was preceded in death by his father, Augustus Greene Spell Jr.

Johnny will be remembered for his quiet strength, steady presence, and deep devotion to his family. His legacy lives on through those he loved and helped raise.
