John "Grady" Hudson

John "Grady" Hudson, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2026, in Walton County, Georgia. Born on May 4, 1941, in Georgia, 

A retired automobile mechanic, Grady was known for his skill, hard work,—traits that earned him respect both in his profession and among those who knew him personally.

He was preceded in death by his son Randy Hudson, his parents Willie and Louise (Phillips) Hudson, his sister Mary Hudson, and his brother William Hudson. Their memory remains a treasured part of his story and the foundation upon which his family’s legacy stands.

Mr. Hudson leaves behind his beloved wife of fifty-four years, Lynda Hudson,  He is also survived by his children Lamar, Lewis, Vonda (and Steve), Glen, Wanda, Stacy (and Donna), and Chris (and Kelly). His grandchildren Sabrina, Quincy, Candi, Jessica, Jacqulyn, Brandi, William, Ashley, Haiey, David, Christy, Johnathan, Emily, Brandon, Dalton, and Garrett were a source of great joy, as are the many great and great-great-grandchildren who continue his family’s line. His sister-in-law Cathy Hudson and a circle of extended family and dear friends also mourn his passing and celebrate his life.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the chapel of Byrd & Flanigan Funeral Service, located at 288 Hurricane Shoals Rd NE, Lawrenceville, Georgia, 30046. Pastor Tim Taffar will officiate the service. 

The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30 AM until the time of the service. Following the ceremony, interment will take place at Prospect United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lawrenceville.
