JOHN ARTHUR BARKER JR. age 84 of Jacksonville,FL and Lawrenceville, GA died on September 28, 2016.

He was born in St. George,GA on August 21, 1932 and had lived in Lawrenceville, GA and Jacksonville, Fl for many years.He was preceded in Death by his wife Virginia Glee Barker and was a member of Lake Shore Baptist Church in Jacksonville,and was retired as a Computer programmer with the Georgia Dept of Education after 31 years of service. He also served as a Gideon for many years.
He  is survived by wife : Ann Jones Barker of Jacksonville,FL Sons and Daughters in Law :  Mark Barker, Scott Barker,  Kirk & Becky Barker, Rolf & Annie Barker,Steve & Beth Barker all of the Metro Atlanta area.,14 Grandchildren  2 Great Grandchildren, Siblings and their Spouses : Audrey James,Yvonne & Walter Hughes,Bonnie & Tony Ortner,Sue Harrell & Bill Haygood,Bill & Sukie Barker,Irene & Randy Williams, Kay Barker Thomas and  Numerous Nieces and Nephews. A  Celebration of  John's Life will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2016, 2:00 pm at  Lake Shore Baptist Church 2365 Blanding Blvd. Jacksonville,Fl 32210 with Rev. Steve Mouzon officiating.
