Jimmy Lee Ogletree (69) of Johns Creek, GA gained his wings on February 7, 2025. Jimmy was born on November 12, 1955 in Monroe County, Forsyth GA to the late Lee Raymond and Lizzie Mae Ogletree.

Jimmy attended Laodicea Baptist Church where he accepted Christ as his personal savior as a young boy. On March 11, 1988, he married the love of his life, Connie Ogletree. The two loved to travel especially to Hawaii and Amsterdam.

Jimmy was a master chef and enjoyed creating delicious recipes for friends and family. The most requested item on the menu was his specialty, ribs and macaroni and cheese.

For 39 years, Jimmy worked as a maintenance and groundskeeper for Cecil B. Day Investment Company. During this time, he developed a "green thumb" and thus began his love of the outdoors and gardening. Over the years, he gained knowledge of flowers and plants native to the United States. He delighted in planting and caring for them on the grounds that he maintained for so long.

His greatest joy in life was his relationship with his son, Del Rico, and his granddaughter, Quanneshia Coverson. His heart beamed with pride when he learned that he was going to be a "Paw-Paw" to a great-granddaughter, Journei Coverson.

Surviving are wife, Connie Ogletree; Son, Del Rico (Stephanie); Granddaughter, Quanneshia Coverson; Great-granddaughter, Journei Coverson; Sisters, Mary Freeman, Linda Dumas (Herman) and Diane Ogletree; Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Home 288 Hurricane Shoals Rd. NE, Lawrenceville GA 30046.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Home.

A reception will follow the service at The Bellmere Garden House of Ms. Deen Day Sanders 10777 Bell Rd. , Johns Creek, GA 30097

Interment will follow at Laodicea Baptist Church Cemetery 101 Westbrooks Rd. , Forsyth GA 31029
