Jerry T. Mills, age 70, of Lawrenceville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. Jerry was a cabinet maker for over 48 years and also worked for the Gwinnett County School System. Jerry and his wife, Phyllis, were foster parents to over 500 children through the years. Jerry enjoyed taking trips to the mountains. He was a faithful member of Cross Roads Baptist Church, Lawrenceville. He enjoyed singing in the choir and helping with children's church.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents: Arthur Davis and Ida Lee Hogan Mills; brothers: Claude Mills, Joe Mills, and Dennis Mills; his Father and Mother-in-Law, John and Elease Abernathy; Brothers-in-Law, Wesley Abernathy, and Comer Bentley. He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Phyllis Mills; Sons and Daughters-in-Law, Shane & Lisa Mills and Shawn & Dani Mills; Daughter and Son-in-Law, Shelly & Shawn White; grandchildren: Alissa Mills, Chloe Mills, Michael White, Braxton White, Missy White, Maverick Mills and one granddaughter on the way, Dakota Mills; Brother and Sister-in-Law, James Howard & Judy Mills; Sister, Carolyn Bentley, and Sister-in-Law: Beth Abernathy, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. A Celebration of Jerry's Life will be held Saturday, June 4, 2022 at 11:30 am at Cross Roads Baptist Church, Lawrenceville with Pastor Kenny Kuykendall, Rev. Buddy Rhodes, & Rev. James Howard Mills officiating. Jerry will lie in state at the church from 10:30 until the service. Visitation will be Friday, June 3rd from 6 – 8 pm at Cross Roads Baptist Church, Lawrenceville. Interment will follow the service at Peachtree Road Baptist Church, Suwanee, GA with Rev. Danny Mundy officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to help with funeral expenses.
