James L. Morgan

James L. Morgan of Lilburn, Georgia, passed away on April 22, 2026, his 94th birthday, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on April 22, 1932, James lived a full and hardworking life dedicated to his craft and his family. He was a proud carpenter and longtime member of the local union 225, retiring after an impressive 50 years of dedicated service in the construction industry. His skill, integrity, and strong work ethic earned him the respect of his colleagues, for which he was voted apprentice of the year in 1958. James served in the US Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He also served in the First Baptist Tucker children’s ministry for 27 years and was a member of the Encouragers Adult Sunday School class. 

James was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Margaret Sue Morgan, and his oldest son, Jimmy Morgan. He is survived by his two sons, Tommy Morgan and Donnie Morgan, as well as his two stepdaughters, Donna Anderson and Lisa Gauthier. He was very proud of all of his grandchildren, especially Jason Morgan, Melissa Pietro, Brooke Bryant, Blake Anderson, Brittany Burrell, and Clint Gauthier. James was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren. His family will cherish the memories of his quiet strength, his love of Jesus, and the friends he has met through his faith.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 3 PM at Byrd and Flanigan Crematory and Funeral Service, 288 Hurricane Shoals Rd NE, Lawrenceville, GA 30046. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
