James David Lessley, Jr., died on December 21, 2020 after struggling with the Covid 19 virus. Known to family and friends as Jimmy, Lessley had lived for thirty years in Suwannee, Georgia, at Annandale Village. Jimmy received several honors during his residence, including Villager of the Year and Outstanding Employee of the Year at Shoney's where he worked part-time. He was also a member of the award-winning Special Olympics golf team from his community. Born in Livingston, Alabama on March 23, 1947, Jimmy and his parents Daisy and Dave Lessley lived for a time in Tacoma, Washington. Military duty next carried the family to Fayetteville, North Carolina, where Jimmy lived most of his 73 years. He was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Fayetteville and he will be laid to rest with his parents at the Lafayette Memorial cemetery there. Jimmy's winning smile and gift for storytelling won him many devoted friends among the staff at Annandale.
