James R. "JR" Fewell, 83, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024, in Lawrenceville, GA. He is survived by his wife Jami, Sister-in-law Sheila, his son James and daughter Marci, Stepsons Reeves and Alex Moore, his nephews Curtis, Dennis and Michael, and niece Lisa. He has 2 grandchildren, Nick and Vallie, and 5 great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Kable, Alexis, Benjamin and Jack. He is preceded in death by his dad William "Virgil" Fewell and his mother Alva (Rittenberry), as well as his brother Curt. James, born in Arkansas in 1941, was a business owner, carpenter and served as a Marine reservist in the USMC in the 1960s. Raised in California, he spent time in Montana, Texas and finally Georgia, where he met his wife, Jami. Visitation for James will be held at Byrd & Flanigan Funeral Service, located at 288 Hurricane Shoals Rd NE, Lawrenceville, GA 30046 on Monday, January 13, 2025 from 10 am – 11:30 am. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:30 am at the chapel in Byrd & Flanigan Lawrenceville GA with Pastor Kenny Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281
