Hugh "Paw" Whitley of Dacula, GA passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2023.  Hugh received his education from Dacula High School. He worked as a welder at Lockheed Martin and he retired as a cement block plant manager for over 50 years.  Hugh was a member of Ewing Chapel Baptist Church.  He loved farming and growing crops to give to family and friends.

Hugh was preceded in death by his parents: Verlon E. and Cecil Sparks Whitley; his son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Margaret Whitley; brother Gordon Whitley.  Hugh is survived by his loving wife of 39 years  Janice Whitley; children: Red Whitley and companion Vicki White, Shannon (Jessica) Whitley; Jesse Whitley and companion Lisa Wilson. He was Paw to his grandchildren: Heather, Amber, Collin, Stormy, Josh, Connor, Kayla, Ronnie, Madalynn, Cason, Reese, Addison, and Asher; great-grandchildren: Zebb, Isaiah, Destiny, Jayden, Maliya, Jade, Amara, and Teagan; brothers and sisters-in-law: Raymond (Kathy) Whitley, Tommy (Alice) Whitley, Loy (Bernice) Whitley; sisters and brothers-in- law: Sylvia (Thois) Masters, and Sue (Gary) Walls and sister-in-law Juanita Whitley and his best pal (his dog) Coco and a host of loving extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Ewing Chapel Baptist Church with Reverend L.C. Givens and Reverend Allen Whitley officiating.  The family will receive friends on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 4 pm until 8 pm at Byrd and Flanigan Funeral Service in Lawrenceville.
