Howard Lee Swinks Sr. age 89  of Scottdale, GA, passed away on January 15, 2017. A native of Scottdale, GA; he was a US Army Veteran serving in WW II and owner and operator of H.L. Swinks Stone Contractors, he was a collector of old cars and had a love and passion for all animals. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings and special friend Mildred Lee. He is survived by, his daughters & sons-in-laws, Jean & Ben Cochran of Sugar Hill, GA; Rubena Lee & Robert Morris of Scottdale, GA, Tammy & Phillip Quick of Covington, GA; son & daughter-in-law; Howard Lee Jr. & Mary Swinks of Tucker, GA, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017, at 10:00 AM at Valley Brook Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Roper officiating. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. In lieu of flowers make donations in his name to the Homeless Veterans Assoc.
