Howard T. Short, age 92 of Maysville, Ga formerly of Snellville, Ga, passed away peacefully on Friday August 15, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A native of Jackson County, Howard was born on August 30, 1932, to Lewis and Louise Short being one of five children. Howard was preceded in death by the love of his life,Virgina Gaines Short, his parents Lewis & Louise Short, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Nix, Betty and James Brooks, Dorothy and Bob Davidson, and his brother James Short. He is survived by his daughters Mylinda Louise Knittel (Kenneth) and Michelle (Mimi) Rutledge (Stephen), his beloved grandchildren, Tanner Knittel, Lauren Sisk (Chase),Dawson Rutledge, and his sister Patricia Nix, along with several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Howard graduated from Maysville High School; following he served in the Army as a medic during the Korean War obtaining a National Defense Service Medal, going on to graduate trade school, and retired after a long and successful career from White Westinghouse. Howard, a long time cattleman, was a humble, loyal, hard-working, and honest man who enjoyed spending his free time working on his farm, riding his tractor, spending time with his family, and staying up late watching wrestling. Howard will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held Tuesday August 19, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Wilsons Chapel Church 31 Boone Road Maysville, Georgia 30558.
