Gloria Gene Goodman Phillips passed away at home in Snellville, Georgia on July 31, 2025 after a long fought battle with cancer.

Gloria was born in Winchester, Virginia on September 1, 1948, graduated from Handley High School, and attended Monmouth University and Mercer University where she majored in English . She then moved to Atlanta, Georgia to be a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines. She received her private pilot license and got married to the flight instructor, Jim Phillips, in an airplane on Valentine's Day 1981. Gloria retired from Delta in 2020 after 48 years. Gloria was a member of Bethany Baptist Church (Church on Main) in Snellville, Georgia.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald Leroy Goodman and Mary Jean Choucleris; her aunt, Helen Allen; former spouse, Jim Phillips; and her first grandbaby, Cayla Grace. She is survived by her son, James Phillips; daughter, Michelle Phillips; grandchildren, Olivia (9), Madison (8) and Joshua Phillips (7); brother, Jerry Goodman (Eileen) of Myrtle Beach, SC; brother, Gregg Goodman (Linda) of Stephens City, VA; and Jim's 3 daughters: Janet Gregg, Angela Love, and Doreen Carter.
